KING OF FIGHTERS CHALLENGE

OPEN CHALLENGE TO ALL

Over the past few days fliers have been dropped off around near every city of the region inviting trainers of all skill level to come and fight the "King of Fighters" in an open challenge to test their skills against an opponent who stands at the top when it comes to battling. Few if not many might find it odd that there is a self pro-claimed "King of Fighters" but for those curious to see this for themselves the fliers all instruct that they visit Fallarbor Town to come and ease their suspicious.

Right on the outskirts of town sitting in the middle of one of the many craters littering the way sits a black and white pokemon, an Urshifu sitting cross legged on the floor with its eyes clothes and its chest slowly rising and falling with each breath as it looked like it was meditating. In its arm it held a large banner flag with the words "KING OF FIGHTERS" embolden on it gently swaying in the wind being held in place by resting in its massive arm.

It cracked one eye open to see if anyone had taken it up on its challenge and provide a worthy fight for it.

It seems like Kazimir's Urshifu has decided to take the fight to other people and is issuing a challenge to any and all that want to test their strength against a suped up Pokemon. For the purpose of this little event the Urshifu will be treated like a sort of "raid boss" so its abilities have been souped up. So how about it? Think you can take on the King of Fighters and prove you've got what it takes to be the best of the best?[break][break]
For the first round of posting feel free to write an introduction of sorts, a reaction to this challenge, maybe your character is considering what mon to use for it, just something to establish yourself and a prep stage of sorts.

Wicke's recent streams had been a blur of questions regarding this so-called King of Fighters. Would Wicke challenge them? Was he going to stream the event? Which Pokemon would he use? The battling forums, too, were filled with discussion, speculation, and ever-more creative excuses as to why this person or that person couldn't attend. Wicke had read it all. He poured over blogs and articles for hours, hyping himself up for the day of reckoning.[break][break]

The day that Wicke stood on the road to Fallarbor town, clutching one of the King of Fighters posters in his hand, and staring down an all-too-zen Urshifu. Wicke's Rotom Phone circled around him but, for once, he didn't seem focused on it. The camera panned, taking in the Urshifu and its King of Fighters banner, much to the delight of the chat on Wicke's livestream. Emojis flooded the phone screen and chants of "KOF" soon overtook the chat.

The sight of Urshifu brings back . . . questionable memories for the Doctor. Not long ago her and the Machamp that stood by her side were caught in a trap that involved such a pokemon. It left scars. Literally. And a bitter taste in both of their mouths, “You sure you’re up for this, Syah?”

Syah gives a confident nod, smiling through her thick lips, “Alright then!” Eva slaps the Machamp on the shoulder with a loud smack, “Let’s show ‘em what we got!”

Rolling her four shoulders, the fighting-type slides down into the crater, stepping forward as one of the first challengers. Hopefully, more would come. Eva glances over at one of the other trainers, giving @wicke a friendly wave in greeting before she searches the crowd for the host of the event, Kazimir Wynter.

From the crowd of people emerged Kazimir being carried by a small army of incineroars carrying him like cavalry horses as the brought him to the urshifu who cracked open an eye to see their trainer approach them and set the flag it was holding down as it rose to its full height and stood straight. Kaz then jumped from his throne to join standing side by side with his urshifu as he looked among the crowd and could spot a few trainers eager to prove their stuff spotting @wicke and Eva Morales and waving to the latter as he puffed out his chest. "ALL RIGHT TRAINERS IT SEEMS LIKE WE MANAGED TO GET YOUR ATTENTION! SO LET'S SEE IF YOU GOT WHAT IT TAKES TO CALL YOURSELVES REAL POKEMON TRAINERS!"

With that his Urshifu stepped forward and took a readying stance as its whole body twitched as it bulked up its own body to make sure that it was as limber and ready for whatever they threw at it. "SO I'M GONNA LAY IT DOWN REAL SIMPLE! MY BUDDY HERE IS WILLING TO TAKE ON ANYONE AND EVERYONE HERE AND ITS YOUR JOB TO BEAT HIM! SIMPLE YEAH?" that's when the blonde's smile melted into a sly grin as he licked his lips, "but don't think this is gonna be easy! cause it ain't just one of the elite four's pokemon your going up against, no your going up against the certified KING OF FIGHTERS! So if ya think you got what it takes to be crowned the next king of fighters then bring out your pokemon and see if ya can take us down!" [break][break]

With the challenge set forth the Urshifu held out a hand and gestured its opponents to come at it with everything they got.

Wicke was so far into business mode that he almost didn't notice the other contender give him a friendly wave. He fumbled for a moment, but managed to give her (and her very impressive Machamp) an awkward wave in return. He was waffling on whether or not he should say something—maybe introduce himself or wish her luck—when a procession of Incineroar appeared. Were they... carrying a person? Wicke's face screwed up as he tried not to laugh. This was a very serious King of the Fighters competition, after all. No merriment allowed, probably![break][break]

Kazimir's speech only served to get Wicke even more pumped up. By the end of it, his attempt at stoicism had been replaced with a grin that spread from ear to ear. He glanced over to Eva as he released his Dracovish. "Hope you're ready!"[break][break]

Duane, a normally plodding and half-aware Pokemon, seemed to suddenly come to life at the sight of a proper opponent. They clicked their jaws together excitedly before darting forward with surprising speed. They opened their jaws wide, aiming to clamp down on the Urshifu's arm with a Fishious Rend.

in a way, Eva isn’t surprised at Kazimir’s grand entrance. She watches with a playful grin, even subtly rolling her eyes. The theatrics have the crown going wild, amping them up for a promising fight. It’s the King of Fighters, after all!

Kazimir did know how to get people hyped. His little speech did get Eva’s heart racing, tensing the muscle across her back as he naturally dipped a bit lower into a ready stance, despite now even being the one to fight.

Syah, the Machamp, is no exception to the electric atmosphere. In response to @wicke’s statement, she tightened her jaw before bellowing out a deep roar like the Hulk. Her rippling muscles flexed, and her four thoracic limbs smacked together in a thunderous clap as she BULKED UP in a similar fashion to the Urshifu.

“Ready!” Eva pumps a fist up into the air for emphasis. The Dracovish is quick to lunge forward with FISHIOUS REND. It’s a massive dragon-type Eva is unfamiliar with. She knows the basics, of course, but she’s never fought alongside one or even against one.

Luckily, Syah doesn’t need much coaching. As the Dracovish aims an attack at the Urshifu’s arm, Syah strikes at its core. She draws back, curling her thick fingers into four fists. With the power of her typing, she strikes forward, aiming at DYNAMIC PUNCH at the Urshifu’s core.

the first of the two came forward, a dracovish that came with everything it had, despite that the urshifu managed to detect the movements of the large fossil fish and sidestepped around its rush attack. as it did it countered with its aerial ace as it looked to chop at the back of the dracovish. of course it was still handicapped by the fact that it wasn't fighting alone and the machamp came in with a dymanic punch that managed to catch the urshifu off guard just a second too late and the large pokemon took it right to the face and stumbled back a few steps as it held its head up. from its point of view it seemed like it was seeing double and not understanding what was happening in its confused state and could only bring up its fists in a weak defensive stance.

the scene was enough to get kazimir up on his feet in excitement, "oh man, looks like the challengers are off to a good start! but will it be enough of a lead to make things easier? or will things get tougher from here on out?!"
